He rescues those....

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18

To be honest, I don’t know much about Charlie Kirk, but do know he was unashamed about Jesus. A gut punch to many because he stood his ground on unpopular truths.

Then the news about the school shooting and today remembering 9/11.

My spirit feels crushed from all of the evil.

As we provided dinner to the Webster football team last night and then picked up kids from our apartments, my spirit was crushed for them.

Living in a world of seemingly hopelessness, division and chaos, how does one survive mentally, physically and emotionally and spiritually?

Our only hope is Jesus. For some that’s a Sunday school answer, but for me, he is my refuge and strength…an ever present help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

The only hope for kids in West Tulsa, in our apartment communities, in our churches, in our world is Jesus.

He makes sense when life doesn’t make sense.

Today, I put my hope in the Lord…he is my hope, help and shield (Psalm 33:20)

All of the evil highlights the great need to bring the light of Jesus to darkness!
