God is moving

Many in the church don’t SEE God move because their faith is dictated by a sermon and a seat.

The Queen of Sheba couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Was it true?

Was it true that there was a man that was all wise?

She had to go and see to see.

She had to go and see and experience and participate to see that it was true.

She saw....

The results?

“I did not believe the report until I came and saw it with my own eyes. Behold, the half of it was not told to me. You exceed in wisdom and prosperity the report which I heard.” 1 Kings 10:7

Her information came from a report-we will call it a sermon.

It wasn’t until she got up and out of her house in Sheba(Yemen) did she really understand and see the truth about Solomon.

She had to travel 1,365 miles to get the scoop for herself.

A few lessons:

1. We don’t see the move of God many a times because we aren’t willing to move ourselves.

How many sermons have you heard? Has your spiritual life moved as a result?

If so, great. I don’t want to totally downplay the power in a sermon, but how many walking dead do we have in our churches that are just waiting for a sermon to get them to move and change their lives.

The queen traveled 1,365 miles....let that sink in. We struggle with driving 20 minutes.

2. Missions is central to seeing the move of God.

Another word for missions is application. Missions is simply acting upon God’s Word.

The reason I encourage people to simply go outside of their church whether it be in their community, state, nation or world, is because it causes us to be more spiritually sensitive.

God doesn’t move more on the mission field. He moves just as much in our community or home, we have just become deaf and immune to seeing God at work.

3. I see God move every day and I join him. The thing is I can talk to you about it but you still wouldn’t totally understand unless you came with me and participated.

With people in my church and ministry, it’s not until people join me or they go outside of their bubble to go on a mission trip do they fully understand.

4. Church is paralyzing us from see the harvest.

We are waiting for the harvest to come to us.

Have you just heard about this Jesus of Nazareth or have you gone and seen? Have you tasted and seen that He is good?

This week and throughout the summer, I am SEEING God move, but people are unmoved because they just hear about it.

I am seeing God use teenagers and kids to transform communities. You would be surprised at how many times this falls on deaf ears. “Oh that’s cool!” Is the lame sentiment I hear many a times.

Come and see with me. You won’t be the same.
