Children can handle the truth.

Last night, we talked through the dangers of growing up in the church.

One of the dangers of growing up in the church is that God can become an assignment or His Word becomes just another book.

Kids can become apathetic about God when they are immersed in just hearing about God.

Kids live off of their parent’s faith rather than having a faith of their own.

God can become an event that happens only on Sunday rather than in their life. (Which, btw, is not God, but Sunday becomes a god)

We asked the question out of John 10, “Do you know God?” But even more important does God know you?”

Are you in His sheep pen and how did you get there.

Did you get there through Christ or through “sneaking over the wall”?

This “sneaking” happens by being involved in a lot of good church things, but being involved in a lot of church things is not salvation.

Being in Christ, are you following Him or a stranger as it talks about in John 10:5?

Second, does the Holy Spirit live in you? When you believed and surrendered, the Holy Spirit resided in you. (Ephesians 1:13,14)

As we worshiped, the Lord moved.

These kids spoke truth to one another as they reflected on His Word.

And some repented and turned from their sins and finally surrendered. They moved beyond just believing to surrendering their lives.

What a beautiful moment!

Church, kids are the church, they can handle the truth and can be put in situations where they have to put their belief in action.

Let’s not hold them back.
